Wright & Partners were instructed by an overseas bank to acquire a new West End head office building of around 10,000 sq ft. The brief was very precise in terms of location.
The bank had previously occupied premises in St James’s Street, SW1 where Wright & Partners had advised on a surrender of their lease. A new ground floor banking hall (A2 use) was of paramount importance, together with additional accommodation for head office functions.
Wright & Partners conducted an extensive search and a newly refurbished property in Portman Street, W1 was identified within a relatively short space of time. We negotiated terms for a new lease from the freeholder, The Portman Estate, and successfully advised the Bank on obtaining the necessary change of planning use in respect of the ground floor.
